i am in here
i am in a coffee shop right now, as i do many days, because i am writing a book. the book is coming along well, it is about interface design. a lot of interesting and wonderful things have happened in this place over the past few months, and here is one of them:
funky strike: i just got my own table
a red aeroplane: oh good
a red aeroplane: i will come join you at said table
funky strike: before this i sat across from somebody who is probably in a long-distance relationship
funky strike: because he had a webcam clipped to his computer
funky strike: and was making kissy faces at the webcam
a red aeroplane: O___O
funky strike: ~and~
funky strike: i was directly behind the webcam
a red aeroplane: hahahahhaha
funky strike: so the entire time it looked like he was hitting on me.
i sort of entirely 100% love the way that technology makes people look ridiculous. five years ago i’d have parsed your suit-wearing butt as a batshit hobo if you walked down wacker drive talking to yourself, but bluetooth headsets have changed the cultural dynamic such that the instaparsing has changed from hobo to douchebag.
